She was born March 4, 1929 in Cassville, Missouri, daughter of Waldie and Winnie (Ettleman) Brake. She was a 1945 graduate of Minneapolis Kansas High School and later from Brown Mackie Business College in Salina, KS.
Evelyn was married to Everest Capra from 1945 to 1951 and they had 1 son, John (Marlis) Capra of Olathe, KS. She married Albert Yosha on June 21, 1962 and they were married 40 years until the time of his death in 2002. They had 2 daughters, Marilyn (Bill) Vidrine of Lafayette, Louisiana and Lisa (Doug) Hamilton of Topeka, Kansas. Her children survive. Other survivors include grandchildren, Bailey, Jack and Kasey Hamilton of Topeka and Sydney and Addison Vidrine of Lafayette, LA.
Over the years Evelyn lived in New York, Salina, KS, Milford, KS, Ft Meyers, FL, Denton, TX and Topeka. Evelyn enjoyed sewing, cooking and spending time with her family.
A celebration of her life will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at Dove Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Road, Topeka.
Private inurnment will be in the Highland Cemetery in Minneapolis, KS.
