Loretta Kaye Eden, 53, of Junction City, died Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at her home. Loretta was born March 30, 1965 in Ft. Benning, Georgia, the daughter of Russell and Mary (Schmutz) Babcock. Loretta grew up in Junction City, living here since the age of 5, and graduated from Junction City High School in 1983.

She was a homemaker.

Loretta is survived by her husband, Lyle Downing, Junction City; a son, Josh Jacobs and his wife Jessica, Manhattan; her mother, Mary Schmutz, Junction Ctiy; her father, Russell Babcock, Wichita; a brother, Alvin Babcock and wife Lisa, Junction City; 4 sisters, Nora Otte and husband Stan, Dwight, Nancy Holm and husband Paul, Junction City, Terry Rosenteil and husband Tony, Wichita, and Ella Ramos, California; and 5 grandchildren, Myah, Austin, Julianna, Joshua, Jr., and Jayla Jacobs.

A graveside service will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, August 30, 2018 at Highland Cemetery. The family will greet friends on Wednesday evening, August 29, 2018 from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at the Penwell-Gabel Junction City Funeral Chapel.
