Felix A. Snipes, 29, of Junction City died August 31, 2018, Topeka, KS. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 15, 2018 at The New Church of the Living God, 1315 W. Ash Street, Junction City, KS with Pastor James E. Johnson Officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, September 13, 2018 at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, 203 N. Washington Street. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to be given to the Felix Snipes Memorial Fund, c/o Central National Bank, P.O. Box 700, Junction City, KS 66441.

Felix (aka Flex) was born July 21, 1989 of Junction City, KS to Willie T. and Mary E. (Wilson) Snipes. He attended Geary County Head Start, Washington Elementary and interacted with Westwood Elementary as well. He was a graduate of Junction City High School, Class of 2007.

During his High School years Felix was on the FAHS Honor Roll, he obtained the I-70 League Discus Champion (9th & 10th grade), The Ronald Lowry Award, Super 10 Club (10th, 11th , & 12th grade), all Centennial League Honorable mention (10th Grade), Centennial League Boys Track 400 Meter Relay (2005), 4x100 Meter Relay League Member (2nd place), Athlete of the week (2005), Topeka Capital Journal 2nd Team All-League, Wichita voted 6A All State LB, Topeka Capital Journal 6-A All State LB, Kansas City Star 6-A All State LB, he was invited to the ADU Down Under Tournament in Australia, Member of the Athlete Advisory Committee (2005-2006), 2nd Team All Centennial League, Invited to Nation's Top 100 Position Prospect combine by Rivals.com, Topeka Capital Journal voted 2nd Team All-League, First Team All Junction City 2006, mention in the Pigskin and Hoops 2005-2006 Edition, 2007 Shrine Bowl Nominee, he attended Collegiate Sports America (CSA) combine in Topeka and Missouri where he was recognized as one of the mid-west top football prospects in 2005. He was recruited as a Junction City High School Blue Jay student receiving letters from Kansas State University, Kansas University, University of Wyoming, Wisconsin Badger Football, Butler County Community College, Garden City, and LSU to name a few and following the taking of his senior pictures he had the opportunity to be a model.

Felix decided to walk on at KSU while Ron Prince was the head football coach. Felix later attended Butler County Community College, and while there he was acknowledged as freshman of the week and was part of the 2007 NJCAA National Football Championship, 2007 Jay Hawk Conference, 2008 NJCAA National Football Championship and the NJCAA 2008 All Academic Football Team. He also attended Friends University in Wichita for a short period, and he coached at Coffeyville Community College.

Felix was very outgoing and free spirited, he loved singing, dancing, playing basketball, football and baseball he loved KSU Football and the Kansas City Chiefs. Although Felix was in sports most of his life he also had a passion for singing and sang in talent shows at Washington Elementary, Junction City, Manhattan, Topeka, Lawrence and Kansas City. He stated that he explored the world by moving to different places like Wichita, KS and Washington D.C. and that the lifestyles really influenced a lot of his music, but he always came back to Junction City. Felix started his craft in music in 2012 and was influenced by Marvin Gaye, Jay Z, Biggie and Nelly. Felix will be truly missed by his family and his many friends.

He is survived by his parents, Willie and Mary Snipes, his sister; Shemika Snipes, his brother, Travis Allen-Snipes, Grandparents, Louis and Margaret Snipes all of Junction City, KS; his Grandfather, Donnie Jones of Friars Point, MS and his very dear and special friend, Sarah Abuali.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, J.C. Dogan, Sr. and Jimmie Lee Dogan and Mary Ella Wilson
