Bonita S. Watkins, 68, of Wichita, KS, passed away on Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at Newton Medical Center in Newton, KS. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 25, 2020, at the Greenwood Cemetery in Newton, KS. A visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Monday, February 24, 2020, at the Johnson Funeral Home in Junction City, KS.

Bonita was born August 23, 1951, in Fairfield, CA, the daughter of Wilbur and Mary Joan (Hahn) Short.

Bonita was a Christian. She loved God, her family and animals.

She is survived by her mother, Mary Short of Wichita, KS; one son, Steven Watkins of Wichita, KS and one daughter Barbara Highsmith of St. Johns, FL; one brother, Tom Short of Wichita, KS; two grandchildren, Ryan Mottas of St. Johns, FL and Brent Watkins of Junction City, KS.

She was preceded in death by her father Wilbur Short and one sister, Linda Amick
