Howard Stanley Smith, 68, of Junction City, KS passed away on Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at Geary Community Hospital. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, October 28, 2021 at Johnson Funeral Home. A visitation will be held 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at the Johnson Funeral Home. Memorial contributions are suggested to be given to the American Alzheimer's Association.

Howard was born April 11, 1953 in Junction City, KS the son of Silas and Willie Mae (Jones) Smith, Jr.

Howard attended schools in Junction City. Howard owned and operated his mechanic shop in Junction City. He enjoyed automobiles, music and watching western shows. He was known for being able to "fix" anything. He built go carts and race cars from scratch.

He married Lynn Thorpe. They were later divorced.

Survivors include three sons, Howard Smith, Jr. and Harrison Smith both of Beaver Dam and Simon Smith of Watertown, WI; one daughter, Hope Smith of Appleton, WI; four brothers, Harold Smith of Tulsa, OK, Johnny and Richard Smith of Junction City, KS and Michael Smith and his wife Zanetta of Manhattan, KS; three sisters, Ardette Phillips of Victorville, CA, Linda Murphy and her husband Willie and Debra Bevier both of Junction City, KS; five grandchildren and a host of nephews, nieces and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Silas Smith, III, Russell Smith; two sisters, Lillie Smith and Brenda Stewart
