James Christenson, 77, of Junction City, Kansas, passed away on November 18, 2022 in his home surrounded by family. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at Johnson Funeral Home. A military graveside service will take place 10:00 a.m. on Friday, December 2, 2022, at Highland Cemetery in Junction City, Kansas.

Jim was born in Oklahoma to Clarence and Ida Mae Christenson.

He enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1963 and was given an honorable discharge when his mother passed away. Jim retired from Fort Riley after 31 years.

Jim loved working in his garden and sharing his crops with his friends. He always had family gatherings and lots of food. He loved to play poker.

He was loved by all who knew him and will be missed. Jim had five special ladies in his life: his niece, Candi; great-niece, Mary; his caregivers at the end of life, Charlene and Terra; and his fiancée, Kathy.

Jim is survived by his daughter, Julie Weeks; two brothers, Willard Christenson and Norman Christenson; one sister, Norma Jean Bulleigh; his fiancée, Kathy Harris; three grandsons, Shane Weeks, Aaron Weeks, and Jesse Weeks; two great-grandsons, Emmett and Matt.

He is preceded in death by his wife Jeannie, his parents, three brothers, three sisters, five nephews, and one niece.
