Raymond W. Bennett, 83, of Junction City, Kansas died Friday, August 18, 2023, at his residence in Junction City, Kansas. Cremation will take place. A memorial service will take place 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at St. Xavier Catholic Church with Father Kerry Ninemire officiating. A public visitation will be held 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, August 22, 2023, at Johnson Funeral Home followed by a Vigil Service at 7 p.m. The interment with military honors will take place 10:00 a.m. Thursday, at the Kansas Veterans' Cemetery in Wakeeney, Kansas.

Raymond was born December 11, 1939, in Salina, Kansas the son of Wayne C. and Ida (Plant) Bennett.

Raymond served in the United States Army for nearly three years. After his military service, he was a long time United States Civil Servant working for Irwin Army Community Hospital at Fort Riley. He was a member of St. Xavier Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Fraternal Order of Eagles, American Legion Post #45 and the Elks Lodge #1037 all of Junction City, Kansas. He enjoyed traveling, going to the casino and collecting coins and guns. However, his true passion was spending time with his family, visiting with people and spending time in the country. He was a farm and country person since he was raised on a farm.

On September 4, 1965, he married the love of his life Dorothy M. Dinkel in Moreland, Kansas.

Raymond is survived by loving daughter, Amy Potter and her husband Troy of Junction City, Kansas; eight grandchildren, Kyle Twiggs, Sean Twiggs, Rita Curry, Dillon Moenning, Alyssa Rainwater, Travis Bennett, Jarod Geike and Briana Potter; 15 great-grandchildren and one sister, Lois Thorne.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Dorothy; daughter Tina Bennett; two grandsons, Wayne Bennett and Tevin Geike.
