Kansas Veterans' Cemetery
Allen Oltjenbruns, 64, of Junction City, passed away on October 22, 2023, at Stormont Vail - Flint Hills Campus. A graveside service will take place at Kansas Veterans' Cemetery Monday, October 30, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. with military honors.

Allen was born on November 8, 1958, to Willard and Daisy (Hogsett) Oltjenbruns in Holyoke, Colorado. After high school, he decided to enlist into the U.S. Army as Heavy Wheeled Vehicle Mechanic and served honorably for 13 years. While having dinner in a shared unit mess hall, he met his future wife over a plate of spaghetti.

After serving in the Army, he spent 30 years as a railroad mechanic in Junction City, then transitioned into a civilian contractor working on military vehicles. Allen felt right at home working with his military brothers again.

Harley Davidsons and Nascar were Allen's favorite past times. He enjoyed sharing these hobbies with his family.

Allen is survived by his wife, Linda; one son, Christopher (Vicky); one brother, Lester (Denice), and a host of other loving family and friends.

He was preceded in life by his parents.
