Marie E. Cundiff, 102, of Junction City, Kansas died Thursday morning, October 26, 2023 at Valley View Senior Life Center in Junction City, Kansas. A funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 6, 2023 at First Christian Church with Pastor Ronnie Roberts officiating. The family will receive friends 1-3 p.m. Sunday, November 5, 2023 at Johnson Funeral Home. Burial will follow the service at Highland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to be given to First Christian Church in Junction City.

Marie was born March 18, 1921, in Leonardville, Kansas the daughter of Fritz Rudolph and Elizabeth Louise (Fernstrom) Peterson.

Marie worked as an Avon Sales Representative for over fifty years. She was a member of First Christian Church, American Legion Post #45 Ladies Auxiliary and the Fraternal Order of The Eagles Lodge #830 all of Junction City, Kansas.

When Marie was 91, she received the "Helping Hand Award" for donating time writing hundreds of cards and letters to Fort Riley Soldiers.

She is survived by two sons, Larry Remmers of New York, New York and Robert Landrith of Milford, Kansas; one daughter, Judy Bagley of Junction City, Kansas.

Survivors include; grandchildren, Colleen, Heather and Nolan Sump, Aaron and Jarred Landrith and Sean and Jessica Spitz; three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Robert Remmers; two daughters, Shirley Sump and Sophia Spitz; one grandson, Ryan Remmers.
