Derrick "LA" McCarty , 45, of Junction City, KS, formerly of Asheville, NC, passed away on September 10, 2018. Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home is assisting family with arrangements.
He was born on April 9, 1973 in Manhattan, New York, to Romie and Dora (Arthur) McCarty. He was one of many siblings that resided in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Later in life LA moved to Asheville, North Carolina, where he met Tiffany Beal. They were married on 06/12/2010 in Asheville, North Carolina. In 2013, they moved to Junction City, Kansas, and operated their own business.
LA's world revolved around his wife and children. He was a very devoted husband and loving daddy and he will be missed.
LA is survived by his loving family: wife Tiffany McCarty and three children Jacob, Derica, and Darisa; his parents and siblings; many nieces and nephews; and a host of loving family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his son Kyle McCarty.
